The Himmelblau Experience

Visit us and experience our lovingly hosted home filled with comfort, style, and heartfelt hospitality at the foot of Table Mountain. Proudly ranked No. 1 of 50 B&Bs in Cape Town.

We wanted to create a small guesthouse that feels relaxed, comfortable and personal rather than formal. A place where guests can enjoy their privacy when they wish, but where conversation and connection are always close at hand.

Our Victorian home, built around 1900, stands in one of Cape Town's oldest and most beautiful heritage neighbourhoods. Working together with a local architect, we transformed the house into a bright contemporary space while preserving the character and charm that made it special in the first place.

With only three suites, we have the luxury of time. Time to recommend a hidden beach, suggest a favourite restaurant, help plan a day in the Winelands, or simply share stories over a cup of coffee.

Many guests arrive as visitors and leave feeling more like friends. We believe that is one of the reasons so many return.

Breakfast

Breakfast has always been one of our favourite parts of the day.

Some mornings guests gather around our large communal table, sharing travel stories and plans for the day ahead. Others prefer a quiet spot beneath the old oak tree or beside the pool.

Wherever you choose to sit, breakfast is prepared with the same care we would give to family and friends visiting our home.

We source many of our ingredients locally, from fresh fruit and artisan bread and rolls to quality dairy products and seasonal produce. Enjoy homemade preserves, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, eggs prepared to your liking, and a selection of teas and freshly brewed coffee.

There is no rush. Breakfast at Himmelblau is as much about conversation and connection as it is about food.
